Description

"Why do the girls at Belvedere Point-Slope Academy always travel in groups of 3 or 5?"

AS IF!

... to find the answer (and laugh your face off!), you'll have to buy this fun and instructional handout ;)

It features 23 multistep equation questions, including the basic operations (and a few fractional coefficients), making it a good handout for students new to multistep equations. There are no parentheses, nor variables on both sides.

But there is lots of fun learning the answer, and lots of practice with positive and negative number addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The puzzle was designed to make the punchline hard to guess in order to prevent you-know-who from spoiling it for the entire class, but we can only do so much about you-know-who :P

Try this handout! Your students will love it!

Includes:

- 1-page riddle/practice worksheet w/ 23 multistep equation questions - PDF

- Answer Key PDF

- Thank you page - Thank you!

Solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form 𝘹 + 𝘱 = 𝘲 and 𝘱𝘹 = 𝘲 for cases in which 𝘱, 𝘲 and 𝘹 are all nonnegative rational numbers.
Solve word problems leading to equations of the form 𝘱𝘹 + 𝘲 = 𝘳 and 𝘱(𝘹 + 𝘲) = 𝘳, where 𝘱, 𝘲, and 𝘳 are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach. For example, the perimeter of a rectangle is 54 cm. Its length is 6 cm. What is its width?
Solve linear equations in one variable.
