Description
I teach a select group of anterior and posterior muscles to my PE classes. I have a drawn picture of the muscles on my gym wall that my art teacher made me. It is an anterior (front) and posterior (back) view of the muscles. You can find other muscle charts online to put up in your gym as well.
I like to teach a correlating exercise and stretch that they can easily do in their space they sit at in PE. These stretches and exercises use no equipment. I'll teach one muscle per week and give a brief explanation of how we use the muscle in day to day use. For instance, the Iliopsoas is a group of muscles involved in walking. I will then teach an exercise students can do in their spot as well as a stretch that involves that muscle as well. I have included static as well as dynamic stretches in this download.
We may then go into discussion about different movement that involve those muscles as well. Feel free to use this resource as it would fit best into your class and curriculum.
