Muscular System introduces students to some of the major muscles and muscle groups in the human body. Students will discover what muscles are and how they work. They will learn the two kinds of muscles and the three types that fall in those two categories.

The “Options for Lesson” section contains suggestions for additional activities to incorporate into your lesson. One suggestion is to invite a health specialist to come to the class and talk to the students about muscles and how to strengthen them. You could also plan a “Funny Face” contest to stress the large number of muscles in the face.
