Description
A new and different way for your kiddos to work with note and rest values in your elementary music class! Musical Math is a great way for students to work with how many beats a note or rest receives, then add them up for the sum. This activity is a fun twist on putting beats in sets/measures. The Musical Math problems are on paint chip cards. There are four different colored boxes with notation on each card. Add the number of beats to come up with the sum! Can be used as a music center or a quick formative assessment for your class.
This activity can also be used for an arts integration project. Music and math have standards that connect to each other, leading to opportunities to dive deeper into their learning. Awesome differentiated instruction!
The cards come in printable color and B&W PDF format.
