Description
Spelling, word study, or word work practice for the week. Good for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or special education students. For 20, 15 or 10 word lists. Includes 3 different cover sheets and numbered activities for differentiation of spelling list. Assign the spelling booklet on Monday and collect it on Friday, simple.
Print out the sheets according to how many spelling words your students are assigned. I have included sheets for 20, 15, and 10 spelling words.
¥ Staple the sheets as a weekly booklet. In my class, I hand these out on Monday and collect them on Friday.
¥ After the spelling principle has been taught, students fill in the cover with their words. Each night, they have a different way of practicing their spelling words.
¥ I use these with 5th and 6th grade students and they really enjoy the variety of the practice. They also appreciate the routine.
¥ The first time you introduce the booklet to your students you should go over what your expectations are and the directions for each page. In my class, during the introduction week, I explain when I will collect it and how each page is to be completed. There are 5 assignments and only 4 nights of homework leading up to the Friday test, so I include one of the assignments as an extra credit.
