I created this as a resource for students using LAMP Words For Life to communicate. Our students require visuals, modeling, scaffolding, and repetition! This is a resource that will provide all of these components . Students will have the opportunity to learn to identify the letter “Xx” and things in their environment that end with the letter “Xx”. They will learn to locate the letter “Xx” on their communication device through modeling and following visual sequences . They will also learn to locate the following vocabulary on their communication device:

fox, box, mix, six, and fix.

There are many ways to use this resource. Here are some suggestions:

• Virtual Teaching
• Copy, laminate, and bind for individual instruction or small group instruction
• Print additional copies and laminate pictures that end with “Xx”, work on receptive or expressive identification and/or use pictures to learn additional descriptive language, function of objects, categories, answer “wh” questions, etc.
• Project onto smart board or Promethean board, then read and model for students
• Send home for parents to reinforce skills at home
• Pre-teach vocabulary sequences and reteach/reinforce sequences
• Make sequence flashcards

This resource comes as a PowerPoint presentation and a PDF version. The product is very clear when in PowerPoint, projected onto a Promethean Board, Smart Board, or printed.

I hope the books that I am creating will help students learn new vocabulary, location of vocabulary, and more importantly will enable them to communicate for a variety of purposes. Students will learn curriculum, while at the same time increasing functional language.
