Description

Mystery Science Lab III is a set of 6 new mini-labs that require students to explore the natural world around them. It's perfect for that first week and will allow you to get to know your students in a lab setting.

Each card requires the students to answer an investigation question using observations and prior knowledge. The amount of materials needed is reduced from my previous two Mystery Science Lab packs and you probably have many of them in your classroom or around your house. (See the preview for a list of materials.)

I like to use this at the beginning of the year to get to know my students and see how they interact in a lab setting. It's great for getting an idea of who works well with who and whether your students can follow directions. It also allows me to see if my new students are fitting in because I do this at the end of the first week. Alternatively, use it at the end of the year to review snippets from the entire year.

If you already have my Mystery Science Lab I or II sets, these mini-labs are all different. I created this product to fit with the standards I need to teach in 4th grade and to reduce the amount of time it takes to do the activity down to one day instead of two.

I hope you enjoy this activity! Please leave your comments & feedback. Also, follow me to receive notifications about my other TPT products, freebies, and sales.

I work with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities and the more interactive I can make a lesson, the more successful it will be. Thanks so much for your hard work!
