This is a paper based science lab which requires students to analyze the details of a fictional island called "Mythical Island" in order to create an animal or plant that is adapted to this harsh land. Students must draw a colored picture of their animal/plant on poster board and provide descriptions of how its anatomical features enable it to survive on "Mythical Island". This is a great lab that gives students creative freedom. Students are then encouraged to present their organisms to the class. This lab is best completed in cooperative learning groups.
