Fill in the blank copy of Guided notes and its key. The notes can be easily printed for students or downloadable for any device.

This lesson includes the following concepts:

• Defining a rational function and determine if a function is considered rational.
• Defining various characteristics of rational function such as non-removable points of discontinuity (vertical asymptotes), removable points of discontinuity (holes), horizontal asymptotes, and intercepts. All this important information is on "Rectangle" type box so students can cut out and make their Rational Function (RF) Notecard to help with them with these notes. These notes need to be printed on TWO different sheets of paper (NOT FRONT AND BACK) so can make their RF Notecard appropriately.
• Graph various types of rational function which some include no holes, holes, no asymptotes (but has a hole), and more than one vertical asymptote.

• PDF copy of KEY with all blanks and examples filled in (including all detailed work).

The HW WS part of this product includes the following:

Fill in the blank copy of HW WS and its key (with work and answers only). The HW WS can be easily printed for students or downloadable for any device.

This HW WS (Assignment) includes the following types of problems:

• The worksheet/assignment has total of 10 problems but 5 of these problems is just graphing the first 5 problems.
• The first set (Part I) of problems is given a rational function (which may need to be factored) and then find/write its appropriate information such as vertical asymptote (VA), horizontal asymptote (HA), x-intercept, y-intecept, and hole (if any).
• The second set (Part II) of problems is graphing all the given rational functions from Part I on a coordinate plane.

• Blank PDF copy which contain 1 page
• PDF copy of KEY including all detailed work
• PDF copy of KEY with Answers Only

This lesson is from my NC Math 3 Curriculum (in Unit # 4) but could be also used in Algebra 2.
