Description

Do your students love Lego building blocks, robots, or Minecraft? Let's use our students' interests to get them to build and learn about volume!

In this activity, students will explore volume. The activity incorporates student interests like robots, Lego building blocks, and Minecraft. They will engage in a variety of building and paper and pencil tasks.

Note: Provide dice and snap cubes, connecting cubes, wooden cubes, or Lego blocks to build.

This activity is aligned to TEKS 5.4.G, 5.4.H, 5.6.A, 5.6.B.

A solid figure which can be packed without gaps or overlaps using 𝘯 unit cubes is said to have a volume of 𝘯 cubic units.
Measure volumes by counting unit cubes, using cubic cm, cubic in, cubic ft, and improvised units.
