Description
This is a New Generation Science Standard-Aligned Animal Project, appropriate for first grade but could be used in kindergarten or second grade.
Included is a four page booklet to help students organize their research and a four page final project booklet. I have also included a rubric for grading.
My students work on this in groups, after reading different texts to research and learn about a specific animal.
This project not only aligns with NGSS standards, but it also combines several reading and writing Common Core Standards, checking off all those assessment boxes at once including reading about a nonfiction topic, researching, writing about a topic and working with a group to publish a project!
