This document is a 10 question test based upon the skills students need to demonstrate by the mid module assessment. Use this test to guide your instruction or to place students in differentiated groupings. This test is meant to take approximately 20 minutes, and contains questions where students must simplify, add and subtract fractions with like denominators. Adding fractions with UNLIKE denominators is a new skill, so this test will show you which students have or have not mastered the basics of adding and subtracting with fractions before you begin your unit. I have left the document in word format so that you can edit make any necessary changes. I hope you find it helpful in planning with the New York State Math Module 3 for Grade 5.
