Writing narratives is difficult for many students. A hurdle for students is how to identify the essential elements of any story and how to structure it. In this introductory lesson for narrative writing students achieve the following:
- Understanding of the three essential elelments: Conflict, Change or resolution and Descriptive Writing.
- How to break down the components of a story through the plot mountain organiser graph
- Become familiar with the concepts of horizontal and vertical time to make their descriptive writing more effective.
- How to complete effective story starts by examining a multitude of story starts.
- A quiz is completed to affirm understanding.
