Description

NARRATIVE WRITING STATIONS: This bundle of writing stations is designed to take your students through a process-based approach to creating a piece of narrative writing. You can use all of them for an exploration of narration that takes you a week or more OR you can pick and choose to use them one at a time.

In this resource you will find a variety of options:

PHOTO PROMPT LEARNING STATIONS These can be used to help students find inspiration for telling a narrative. They can be used for writing prompts only, or students can use them for the basis of a story they will write.

EXPLORING NARRATION LEARNING STATIONS These stations focus on the elements of narrative writing: setting, opening lines, point of view, character, theme & use of language. They are designed to get students to experiment with these elements of fiction, not to write their own stories. Use them for skill building before students write their own narratives or any time through the year for review and practice.

LEARNING STATIONS FOR PLANNING A NARRATIVE: Use these stations before students write a first draft, so they can really flesh out the ideas they have for their stories. Use all or some of them, depending on which skills you want students to work on. Regardless, the tasks at the stations will help students avoid writing those breakfast-to-bed stories and create ones that are far more interesting to read!

LEARNING STATIONS FOR REVISION: Once students have a draft of their narratives, you can use these statiosn to help them fine tune their ideas and words. Perfect for peer revision too!

RUBRICS that you can use (and edit) for formative and summative assessment of your students' narrative writing.

Great value
I would buy everything this seller produces in a heartbeat. The resources are amazing and never disappoint. This was great because the students did not get overwhelmed with editing their writing. At each station they could focus on one thing. Great!

My students loved the stations because it gave them a chance to move, talk, and add to their plot charts of their narrative before they began to write their Narrative Essay.

I have used this product in the past two school years and look forward to using it again this year. It is very well organized. All the photos provided allowed students to choose an image that inspired them to write. It is one of the best products I have purchased in TPT.
