Description
One of my students favorite labs of the year! Anytime you can bring food into the classroom you'll get to see your students faces light up!
Includes a brief 11 slide PowerPoint presentation over Darwin's voyage where certain vocabulary terms will be introduced before performing the lab.
This lab uses colored M&M's to represent variations within species and how they can sometimes stand out when predators are around.
Students will have to read the pre-lab and define terms. Students will also construct data tables and record data they collect during the lab.
Students will also find out percentages of survival and use their data to construct graphs. The most popular part of this activity is of course the end when you can indulge your sweet tooth!

Thank you so much for making my life easier. The students really enjoyed this lab.
We have a time built in the day called Connect Time, think of it like indoor recess where kids get to pick places to go. I do edible science and the students who came to my room that day really enjoyed the activity. They are all ability levels and don't have to pick this session. They worked well together the whole time and seemed to really like it.
