Description
Here is a great way to get your students excited about reading! This can be used in the school library or your classroom library. I developed this because I had a lot of students requesting that I buy the same books, and I could never decide the fairest way to decide who could sign out the book first.
Now, every time I am ready to put out a new popular book, I put up the new book draw sign, some ballots, and a box, and the students who want to sign out the book fill out a ballot. At the end of the week, I draw a winner. The kids can't wait for the end of the week, and are so excited to see who the winner is. And as far as I am concerned, if it gets kids excited about reading - everyone is a winner, right?
My plan was to put out a whole bunch of books during parents night, and use it just for one night, but the draws have created so much interest and excitement about reading, I have decided to keep some as regular displays in the library.
In this package, I have included the following
-"New book draw" titles in both black and white and colour
-a New book draw poster (explaining what the draw is) in both black and white and colour
-ballot forms (6 on a page)
-a certificate/letter to notify the winners (1/2 page)
I am always open to editing or adding to my ideas, so please contact me with any ideas, questions or suggestions!

great idea
The students will love this and it will help to fairly distribute new books!
Great! Thanks for your feedback!
What a great way to solve the 'who gets to read it first' dilemna! Thanks so much.
I love this! I just bought a ton of high demand books for our library and I'll be using this to make sure my kids have a fair shot at checking them out!
Great! Thanks for your feedback! I do a few new books every week.
Love this!
Now I don't have to worry about hurting someone's feelings because they did not get the book first. Thanks!
can't wait to use with my next round of book talks
Thanks!
