With a small troupe of 4-5, students will create their own news broadcast. In this project students will brainstorm on an original name, stories, and design for their final performance. Throughout the project, students will learn about time management and how to meet a deadline. Students will practice playwriting and working as part of a production crew.

This project could be done consecutively or used as a long term substitute assignment.

For students that miss the performance date or who are in detention, there is an alternate assignment available. The alternate assignment can also be tweaked for students who do not work well in groups or need to work individually.

The grading rubric is on the original project page, therefore allowing students to know exactly how they will be graded on their final performance.
