Description

It’s “busy work” — but it’s actually engaging and fun for students! Perfect for last-minute sub plans, early finishers, and students who need extra practice. It's more engaging than a basic worksheet, as students feel rewarded to unlock each square as they try to guess what they're drawing.

These worksheets engage students' art skills (recognizing simple shapes and lines) and table graphing skills.

These mystery grid worksheets do not use math problems, but my store page has other mystery grids using the 4 basic operations or solving-for-X.

To use these worksheets, students must find the grid cell that corresponds to each labelled image square. Recreate the lines into the corresponding grid cell. Once all squares are recreated, the full drawing is revealed!

You can also change the font, colors, sizing, text, and more with an editable Google Docs version — or use it as a base to make your own color-by-number worksheet with your class material.

By the end, students are ecstatic to see the full picture that THEY drew.

For each drawing worksheet, you will receive:

  • PDF version of the Drawing Sheet and Answer Sheet
  • Google Docs version (EDITABLE) of the Drawing Sheet and Answer Sheet (This will be a link inside of a PDF file.)
  • The final completed drawing picture for reference
  • A comprehensive list of every available mystery grid worksheet
  • Every individual cell image available for remixing

Every single line, letter, character, and square is EDITABLE in Google Docs. You can change the colors, sizing, font, and more.

I’m available to recreate these worksheets for different subjects and/or grade levels, as well as any photo of your choosing - just send me a message!

ZERO AI — These worksheets and drawings have been made with NO artificial intelligence. All drawings are digitally hand-drawn by myself using a touch tablet and Krita art software, based on real-life photos. Most worksheets have been tested in my own classroom.
