Included here are 25 math and 25 literacy activities, themed around spring topics. All activities here are paperless and ready to go in Google Slides!
What's Included?
Literacy Activities (25):
- R-Controlled Syllable Exceptions -- move the carrot over any words in which the r-controlled vowel in a word does not make its regular sound (ex: the ar in carrot does not say /ar/.)
- Spellng with aw, au, al -- move the duck over any words in each row that use the same letters to make the /aw/ sound as the first word given.
- Syllabication: vc/ccv or vcc/cv -- move the cloud to separate the syllables in the given words
- Spelling with Suffixes ish, ist, y -- move the words to the jars to tell how the base word changed when the suffix was added (no change, drop the e, or double the consonant)
- Adding Prefixes de, out, mid -- move the prefix to complete the underlined word in each sentence so that the sentence makes sense
- Comparative and Superlative Adjectives and Adverbs -- given the adjective or adverb and a sentence, type the correct form to complete the sentence
- Produce Compound Sentences -- given 2 simple sentences, type them into a compound sentence
- Pronoun/Antecedent Agreement -- move the letter from the correct pronoun to complete the sentence to answer a riddle
- Dependent Clauses in Complex Sentences -- move the rainbow highlighter over the dependent clause in each sentence
- Capitalization Crossword -- given sentence clues, type the word from each sentence that has a capitalization error into the crossword
- Literal vs Non-Literal Language -- move the flowers to tell if each sentence is literal or nonliteral
- Choosing Words for Effect -- move the "fancy" words to the sentence for which it can fill in the blank
- Spoken vs Written Language -- move the example sentences and descriptions to the basket for either spoken or written language
- Punctuating Dialogue -- complete the maze by moving the frog over correctly punctuated sentences (tags at the beginning or end of the sentence only)
- Editing Writing -- move the editing symbols to correct the passage
- Adding Reasons to Opinion Writing -- type the given reasons into sentences in the correct part of the text
- Adding Details to a Narrative -- identify sentences that can be added to specific places in a story
- Connections in Non-Fiction Text -- read the text, then answer 4 questions about the development of a chicken egg
- Point of View in Non-Fiction -- read the text, then answer 3 questions about the author's point of view and supporting reasons
- Connections Between Sentences -- read 5 short passages and move the kites to identify the relationships between the sentences (compare/contrast, cause/effect, sequence)
- Compare and Contrast Non-Fiction -- read 2 texts and move statements to tell if they describe Arbor Day, Earth Day or both
- Theme and Character Traits -- read the story and answer 3 questions
- Elements of Drama -- read the play, then use the line tool to answer 2 questions. Type answer to last question.
- Point of View in Fiction -- read the story, then move the marshmallow bunny over any statements that are true about the story
- Compare and Contrast Fiction -- read the short stories, then find any statements that are true about the stories.
*Note that all passages are written at a middle to end of 3rd grade level.

- Unit Fractions -- move the fraction models to the flower with the correct unit fraction
- Fractions on a Number Line -- move the snails to the number lines to identify the fractions at given points (only whole numbers are given on the number lines)
- Equivalent Fractions -- use the paint bucket tool to color the models so that it matches the given fraction. Type the equivalent fraction.
- Fractions to Describe a Whole -- move the fractions to tell if they are less than, greater than, or equal to ONE
- Comparing Fractions with Like Denominators -- use the paint bucket tool to color any boxes in the maze that have INCORRECT comparisons
- Comparing Fractions with Like Numerators -- complete each comparison with a fraction that makes the comparison true. Move the letter from the fraction to answer the riddle.
- Fractions of a Set -- move umbrellas to match each set with its answer (ex: 1/2 of 4 = 2)
- Interpreting Line Plots -- move the flower over any statements that are true about the given line plot
- Covering Regions -- type the estimated area of given objects on a grid
- Finding the Area of Irregular Figures -- type the areas of 5 irregular figures by counting squares; type answers to 2 questions about the areas
- Same Area, Different Perimeter -- type the area and perimeter of the figures in the rows; move a duck to any pairs of figures that have the same area, but different perimeters
- Area and Perimeter -- use the diagram of the garden to find missing measurements, areas, and perimeters
- Area of Irregular Shapes -- insert and color text boxes to cover the irregular shapes. Type their total areas.
- Measuring Volume/Capacity -- move the leaf over the correct estimate of 7 containers; move and stretch a given blue figure to fill up buckets to given volumes
- Measuring Mass -- move the weights to give the mass of objects on a scale; students will have to use all operations to find the masses
- Word Problems with Mass and Volume -- move the bees to the honey pots whose problems they answer (uses all operations)
- Telling Time to the Minute -- move the digital times and statements to the clocks that they match
- Elapsed Time -- match dominoes so that the problem connects to the digital time answer
- Bar and Picture Graphs -- match bar graphs to pictographs with the same data
- Drawing Quadrilaterals -- use the shape tool to draw quadrilaterals that match given clues
- Naming Quadrilaterals -- given a quadrilateral, move the bee over any names that are correct
- Rounding to the Nearest 100 -- use the paint bucket tool to color a picture. Color each box based on the number that it rounds to given color code chart
- Matching Equations (Multiplication/Division) -- move the model or word problem to the equation that represents it
- Unknown Numbers (Multiplication/Division) -- move the numbers to the equation that it completes. Students will need to know properties of multiplication.
- Addition and Subtraction "Crossword" -- given addition and subtraction clues, type the answers into the crossword
