This recently updated product features a HUGE set of matching and sorting cards (included in color and grayscale), as well as mini-flap books for each text feature that are perfect for literacy journals or interactive notebooks.

There are three Matching & Sorting cards for each text feature: 1) vocabulary word, 2) definition &purpose, 3) picture example. Ideas for Matching & Sorting Cards:

~ Sort the cards on the included Sorting Mat

~ Sort the cards under the included Sorting Header Cards

~ Pick any two sets of cards & let kids play “Memory”

~ Play “I Spy” & give kids clues about the cards on the table

~ Play "Salute": Have kids hold a card to their forehead, then go around the table and give each other clues about the cards

~ Give each student a vocabulary word card and have them search for an example in old catalogs or magazines

There is also a page of six mini-flaps (with the word & definition/purpose typed on the front of each one), and a page of ready-to-cut-out picture examples for each text feature. You can:

~ Glue the ready-made picture examples under each mini-flap

~ Cut out picture examples of each text feature from old magazines

~ Have students draw their own picture example
