Need a virtual version for online teaching? Check out my Nonfiction Text Features Digital Sort.

Do your students need help learning the vocabulary of nonfiction text features (captions, glossary, index, etc.)? In this resource, a "sorting map" is given to each student, and then they sort pictures of the features as well as an explanation of their purpose.

Features focused on are:

*table of contents

*index

*bold words

*headings

*captions

*graphs/charts

*glossary

Great as a quick review or warm-up before a nonfiction study. After students have mastered these features, the cards could be glued down and the chart could be referenced when needed. Fantastic resource for ELL / ESL students!

Directions for how to use the sort are included in this packet. An answer key is also included.
