Description
This is an activity that can be used with MANY different texts and can be adapted to fit for many different grade levels.
-You'll need to start with an engaging nonfiction text. I usually start with a podcast on Asha Degree, a missing girl from Shelby, NC. Available in our TpT store!
-Students will copy notes, reflect on Central Idea and supporting details, and define topic.
-Students will practice applying information from the nonfiction text to each visual for each structure. This is also a great opportunity to teach your students about reliable and unreliable sources!
-Students will complete a text structures project! Choose their topic, create their visuals, write their paragraphs, create a poster and present!
-Using a rubric, students will evaluate their peers' work!
YOU'LL GET:
1. Lesson Plan
2. Notes on text structures
3. Text Structure Graphic Organizers (available separately in our TpT store!)
4. Notes on reliable and unreliable sources
5. Project assignment
6. Project rubric
LOTS of great information packed into a simple, easy to use format.
