Description
This file contains a kit to make simple posters of the six signposts from Beers's & Probst's Notice & Note program. It also contains a complete presentation and explanation of each of the signposts for use in your classroom. Best of all, it's free!
I hope you've discovered Notice & Note by now. It's an excellent strategy for analyzing fiction and contains elements of text coding, annotation, and close reading.
If you're like me, making posters is too time consuming and messy (I have terrible handwriting). I like to keep it simple, as for middle schoolers, less is more. Here is the perfect solution for you. The signpost icons are coordinated between the presentation and the posters. This makes it simple for the students to annotate their texts as they read closely.
NEW - also included is a 30+ slide presentation of the new Notice and Note NONFICTION program!

Lots of information for these strategies! Thank you!
Great resource
I love it - Simple and to the point - Don't need all the fancy borders and cute cartoons - THANKS
Thanks! Just what I needed! I love the symbols you came up with. I wish you would make more resources using these symbols. Great interpretation of Notice and Note.
You're welcome. We've made a concerted effort in my middle school to implement the program and it realy seems to be working.
