I love Notice and Note, however, as busy teachers, we don’t have time to read every single novel and chart the signposts and what it means to the novel. We want to because it helps us help students, and we know what to expect in the signposts log and to facilitate discussions. However, it’s hard and time is a commodity.

Ergo, I have taken the work out of finding signposts for you! In this guide you will find blank signposts for Amal Unbound for students, as well as a guide to the signposts for you. I have also written a short 5 question assessment with a mix of multiple choice and short response (answer key included). But how to grade and score these signpost graphic organizers? Well, I have also created a rubric and grading scale for discussions and logs. I hope this helps take some of the abstract out of scoring and tracking progression!
