In this lesson students will learn about the structure and function of nuclear power plants. This includes a guided simulation that has them investigate the basics of fission, and the importance of control rods.

Nuclear Power Presentation: The presentation has some basic information about fission and fusion. Additionally, it contains links to videos about the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters.

Simulation Guide: The guided student handout allows students to investigate fission reactions, and chain reactions. Additionally, it contains diagrams and descriptions about the vital components in the reactor.
