Description
For this short-term math project, students will choose 5 numbers between 1-20 to represent in various ways. Students are required to come up with 8 different ways to make each number. This can be done using addition facts, subtraction facts, pictures, or even multiplication facts.
Students must use their creativity to represent each number in an artistic way. For example, students can draw a flower with their chosen number in the center and the facts written on the petals and leaves. The idea is to use something with parts.
Students must use a different picture for each number. Some ideas include: tree, caterpillar, flower, sun/sun rays, legos, parking lot, crayon/marker box, school of fish, gumball machine, etc.
A worksheet is provided to represent each number.
This project is suitable for grades K-2.
