This is an interactive flipchart that can be used as a lesson, part of a lesson, or guided practice activity in correlation to my Number Sense in Context activities.
I believe in making connections to the real world in teaching!
It is never too soon to get mathematical tools like dice, playing cards, rulers, and calculators into the hands of our young learners! Using these tools address learning styles and multiple intelligences which increase working memory and understanding. Allow them to explore with them when showing/discussing the specific number(s)!
Make it interactive discussion.
Students can also create their own open-ended "Number One Book" after viewing these examples. Encourage creative thinking, how else is number one important? A first birthday....
