Mega Math Practice {NBT Bundle} First Grade Math
Mega Math Practice 1.NBT.3 gives your students a lot of practice understanding the magnitude of numbers and the concepts of greater than and less than. Young mathematicians not only need to learn how to understand numbers based on place value but also how numbers relate and compare to each other. Students should not just be able to compare numbers, but to reason with those comparisons. This is how we encourage higher-order thinking in our young students.
Teachers need to understand the ways in which students acquire the ability to understand ordering and comparing numbers and its relationship to place value. Developing reasoning with place value is critical to using higher-level math. This standards-based unit includes practice comparing and ordering numbers based on place value relationships. Are your students ready for the challenges of the 21st century? Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are at the very heart of getting our kids ready to navigate the world of today.
Mega Math Practice can be used as independent practice for skills already taught, homework or for a class starter. These pages are NOT meant to be used until students need practice with skills that they have already been taught. The use of manipulatives would also be helpful when using these practice pages.
Students need many opportunities to work with different situations in comparing and ordering numbers. These pages progress from concrete to representational to abstract thinking about numbers.
I hope that you and your kids enjoy these fun First Grade Math Number Sense Activities with Place Value Worksheets set. Check out my store for lots of fun math units including my popular Number of the Day units for grades K-Second.
