Description

I was looking for a way to digitally replicate the following number activities my students do each day when they come in and came up with this interactive notebook. It is made up of the following activities:

1. Place Value Chart (students practice writing a number in a place value chart from hundred billion to thousandths & then write the number in standard form, word form, and expanded form.

2. Decimal Grids (Given a fraction in tenths and a fraction in hundredths, students write the fraction in decimal form and then shade in the decimal grids to represent the numbers.)

3. What's My Rule (Given a couple of examples, students find a rule that works and then apply the rule to complete the table. Then they write the rule using words and write the rule as a mathematical expression).

4. Name Collection Box (Give the students a number and they must come up with expressions using all four operations as well as multiple operations to name that number)

5. Venn diagrams (There are two Venn diagrams, one to find common multiples and one to find common factors)

6. Number lines (The slide has three number lines. You give them three numbers and tell them by what number they should count on each number line).

7. KWL Chart (A place where students can record what they know and want to know about a topic before they do a lesson and then write what they learned after the lesson is over.)

This is a google slide presentation that is hyperlinked so that students can easily get to each activity and back to the cover. The cover of the notebook has tabs that hyper link to the skill and the skill has a box in the upper right hand corner to type the date which hyperlinks back to the cover. Each skill has three slides, the directions, an example, and a template. Students simply copy the template each day and type in their answers. You can check them whenever you like. All students need to do is put the slides in presentation mode and click on the tab that they want to work on.

I hope you find this valuable and have a great school year!!

Read, write, and compare decimals to thousandths.
Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols.
Write simple expressions that record calculations with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without evaluating them. For example, express the calculation “add 8 and 7, then multiply by 2” as 2 × (8 + 7). Recognize that 3 × (18932 + 921) is three times as large as 18932 + 921, without having to calculate the indicated sum or product.
