This Numicon resource is intended for Teachers who have heard of Numicon or have seen colleagues use Numicon but have not yet had the opportunity to use Numicon in their own classroom.
This training guide takes you through Numicon Basic Addition using Numicon Shapes and templates. Ideally, the Teacher would follow the steps outlined and practice these steps with their own set of Numicon Shapes. This can be practiced as many times as required and the Teacher will then be ready to introduce Numicon into their classroom on one-to-one or small groups.
The accompanying video illustrates to the Teacher just how visual and tactile Numicon is and how to best implement this approach of using Numicon to teach mathematical strands. This video can be played over and over and can be kept as a handy refresher for when needed.
