"Fun phonics extension activity! Some of the words did repeat but my students still enjoyed identifying the sound and coloring. "

Description
I created this OU vowel team sort to help students read and listen for the OU sound in the word. If the word says OU like TROUT, they color the word one color. If the word says OU like SOUP, they color the word a different color. This is a great follow up to my OU vowel team sorting worksheet in which the students read and cut, sort, glue the words into the correct OU vowel team / sound category. The can be used following a minilesson, or practice during literacy centers. I may even use this as morning work or an assessment. Check out my other OU vowel team activities!, as well as all of the other activities I've created for all of the vowel teams, as well as blends, digraphs, short vs. long vowels, r-controlled vowels, -le syllable sorts, etc.
