This chart (and accompanying activity) gets young scholars thinking about how to articulate their thoughts as they record a scientific observation. Can also be used as a tool for descriptive writing. I suggest that you make it your own and let student create their own words (with scaffolding where needed) I have a large copy printed in the classroom, and each student has a copy in their scientific journals.
