Description

There are 8 types of statistics in this activity:

· Mean

· Median

· Mode

· Sample Size

· Interquartile Range

· Upper Fence

· Lower Fence

· Upper Extreme

· Lower Extreme

· Range

· Population Standard Deviation

· Sample Standard Deviation

There are 4 types of cards for each statistic type:

· Statistic Name

· Definition and/or Formula

· Example

· Solution(s)

I find it best to use 4 different colors of copy paper. If colored paper is not available, each card uses a different border to help make grading faster. The cards are shuffled so the teacher doesn't have to precut. Students can cut them out without seeing the answer key. Students should cut out all 48 of the cards and match sets of 4. I’ve had students stack and staple them. I’ve also had students cut them out and tape/glue matching sets on poster paper.
