One-sided Limits & Limits at Infinity: PPT Lesson, Guided Notes & Worksheet
Share

Description

Introduce limits to your Precalculus or Calculus students with this fully editable 18-slide PowerPoint lesson, 3-page guided notes packet, and 3-page worksheet. The guided notes will help organize your students notes and help them understand the key characteristics and properties of limits. The guided notes follow the order of the PowerPoint exactly. The PowerPoint lesson also has two practice slides intended to be left up while you assess your students level of comprehension for both one-sided limits and limits at infinity. I teach evaluating limits after this lesson since there are several different strategies for evaluating limits and this lesson provides the students a great foundation to get ready for evaluating limits. The guided notes are a great tool for students to look back to as they work through future problems.

PowerPoint Lesson and Guided Notes Covers:

  • Definition of a limit
  • Estimating limits with tables
  • Evaluating one-sided limits
  • Evaluating limits from a graph
  • Conditions that cause limits not to exist
  • Properties of limits
  • Evaluating limits at infinity

The 3-page Worksheet Contains:

· 14 problems involving evaluating one-sided limits and limits from a graph

· 12 problems involving evaluating the limit at infinity or negative infinity

This was an extremely helpful resource to use during remote, synchronous classes. I love how the PDF handout was perfectly aligned to the powerpoint. It made note-taking so much faster. I wish I had something like this to use every day!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to leave a review! I am so glad this worked out for you! My students give me grief that I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to notes which is why I make these....they're not wrong. I just want them to have ALL of the critical parts and taking notes while I talk isn't easy. And trust me, I am trying to make some more on derivatives, optimization, and related rates...I am teaching 3 preps next semester and they are a mix of hybrid and 100% remote...so I will NEED to make more. Have a wonderful school year!
