Description

Low floor/high ceiling tasks or rich tasks, are great for multi-leveled or mixed ability classes or groups as there is a low entry point and plenty of space for extension.

There is no single right answer as long as learners can justify their responses.  This encourages rich math discussion. Being creative and thinking outside the box is encouraged!

All 25 questions focus on numbers from 10-20. Encourage children to use the number line included on each page, equipment and/or draw to help solve the problem.

This resource contains 25 printable open-ended math problems, focusing on numbers from 10-20, in 2 formats - 1 question per page for students to write on and A5 task cards.

I used the open ended math questions as my daily check in for distance learning. When we met for our live lesson, the students shared how they solved the problem with each other.
