Description

This joke activity will help students to practice their operations with functions. Skills include:

•Adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing functions.

•With dividing functions, the functions cannot be simplified.

•Composition of functions

•Word problems involving functions and operations with functions.

Both (f+g)(x) and f(x)+g(x) notation is used to remind students the problem means the same thing both ways.

As students finish a problem, they will mark off the letter that goes with their answer. The remaining letters will give them the answer to the riddle at the top of the page (What do you call a bear with no teeth?) This is great for self-checking because if students do not see the answer they got in the table, they know a mistake was made and they need to go back and check their work.

Take a look at the preview to make sure this activity is appropriate level for your students.
