Are you looking for a highly engaging, no prep resource on operations with rational numbers? This activity gives students a chance to practice their math skills while also learning the history of the Jack-O'-Lantern!

To correctly complete this activity, students will need to be familiar with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing unlike fractions, mixed numbers, negative and positive integers, and decimals. Students will also convert between fractions and decimals for problems that include both.

Please be sure to read the story first (in the preview) to be sure it is appropriate for your students.
