Description
Help your 6th and 7th grade students review and practice ordering positive and negative numbers on a number line. This resource will be provide a great reference for your students to study and remember that number to the right on a number line are greater than numbers on the left. This resource helps students with the following standards:
➡️Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values.
➡️Recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of zero on the number line; recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself.
➡️Find and position integers and other rational numbers on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram.
➡️Write, interpret, and explain statements of order for rational numbers in real-world contexts.
I use these notes as part of a lesson to review integers with my 7th graders before starting integer operations. We review the number line together and ordering positive and negative numbers.
Here are some different ways you can use this resource in your classroom:
- Guided notes with a whole class group discussion.
- Students can work through these problems with a group or partner for extra practice.
This resource is simple and easy to glue in a composition notebook. It will save you time and energy from having to create problems on your own. This is a great resource for your 7th grader's interactive notebook.
