Ordering Numbers Unit - Digital Notes, Activities, and Assessments
Share

Description

This unit from my Big Ten curriculum includes interactive notes, digital task cards, a cross-curricular research project, and a mixed-level assessment with student reflection form. All resources are digitally compatible and designed primarily for Google Classroom. This unit is designed for 8th grade math intervention, review, or remediation, but could be adapted for 7th grade math as well. Since most of the resources included are Google products, you can make necessary edits to adapt for your class.

The current total included instructional time is about 6 class periods, but I plan to create additional activities for this unit to create a full 2-week unit. Purchase the bundle now and have access to additional content as it is added for no additional cost! Additional content planned for this bundle includes:

- PDF worksheets with digital layers for students to complete on paper or on a device for multiple levels of comprehension

- Teacher's guide including helpful tips and recommendations

- Additional task cards, activities, and games

- A PDF version of the assessment

RELATED RESOURCES:

Approximating Irrational Numbers Quiz (TEKS 8.2B)

Scientific Notation Quiz (TEKS 8.2C)

Scientific Notation Task Cards

Ordering Real Numbers Quiz (TEKS 8.2D)

Ordering Rational Numbers Quiz (TEKS 6.2D)

Ordering Real Numbers Task Cards

ABOUT THE BIG TEN:

About 80% of the STAAR test for 8th grade math is based on just ten concepts. Rather than trying to spend two or three days on every standard, I would spend two or three weeks on each of these big concepts with my Math Lab students for remediation. Focusing on the Big Ten builds confidence and ensures students aren't missing out on key concepts when they are absent for a day or two. Though these units are designed with 8th grade Texas standards in mind, they could easily be used in other classes.
