Description

This is the perfect activity to both challenge students and provide additional practice with ordering positive and negative integers, fractions, decimals, and mix numbers. There are 7 sets that have 8 numbers that need to be placed in order on a number line. Each set is both color coded and labelled (just in case you don't have access to a color printer or are saving on colored ink) so they can be kept organized. Two styles of recording sheets are provided, one with a number line recording page and one columned page. An answer key is also included (for you or to let students self-check as they go).

This set is also perfect when reviewing or working in small groups. With students that struggle this concept it is great to start with 3 cards and then slowly add more to build up confidence. Another way that I've used these is setting combined sets and having students order all of them--it really makes them think about integers, fractions, and decimals and solidifies their thinking.

This resource can be used in several ways - whole group, partner work, small group, etc. I like it because each set has a varied sort of numbers to work with!
