This is a guided notes resource to assist students in learning about outcomes and events as it pertains to probability. The guided notes packet includes key vocabulary and definitions involving outcomes and events, how to identify outcomes, and how to count outcomes. There is also a true-and-false section in which students can apply their knowledge to analyze situations of chance. Plenty of real-life examples are included to give students ample opportunities to practice the skills. An answer key is also provided.

Understand that the probability of a chance event is a number between 0 and 1 that expresses the likelihood of the event occurring. Larger numbers indicate greater likelihood. A probability near 0 indicates an unlikely event, a probability around 1/2 indicates an event that is neither unlikely nor likely, and a probability near 1 indicates a likely event.
