Description

What is Project Based Learning? This question is answered in this tool for facilitators, coaches, administrators, and staff. This handout looks at the difference between a project, thematic unit, and PBL unit.

As a certified PBL facilitator and PBL coach, I have found that these methodologies are often confused and intertwined. Working towards a complete understanding of Project Based Learning as a methodology, means understanding how these approaches are different and what makes PBL unique.

Included in this document are...

- A checklist to use to help evaluate "PBL" downloads

- A scenario using a lemonade stand as a project, thematic unit, and PBL

- A note page for facilitators to gather their thoughts on each method/approach

- A link to a free YouTube video that discusses 4 of the main differences between these approaches (originally recorded on my FREE Elementary Project Based Learning Facebook Group)
