This resource is designed to help young learners answer comprehension questions using PQA (Put the Question in the Answer) and RACE strategies in a developmentally appropriate way. Perfect for first graders, these short, simple stories come with two comprehension questions per story, encouraging students to restate the question in their answer and build strong sentence responses.

The RACE writing strategy is gently introduced and adapted for early writers, focusing on Restating and Answering.

Each question is crafted to guide students in forming complete answers by:
