Description
The perfect STEM activity to do in order to build teamwork, challenge your students, and have your students work through the engineering process. Students will work together in groups to construct the longest paper chain! Materials needed for this STEM you probably already have in your classroom.
Students will be split into groups and given a mini STEM packet, along with construction paper, tape, scissors, and a ruler. They will work through the engineering process to complete this challenge.
This is the perfect activity to do during back to school time after teaching your students how to work in groups. Likewise this activity would also fit any time during the year you'd like your students to do a teamwork challenge! I strive to do one in my class at least 1-2 Fridays every month!
Included in this STEM challenge is:
-A 4 page comprehensive teacher guide with directions, tips, and rules!
-A 3 page packet for students to work through the STEM process with. Students will ASK, IMAGINE, PLAN, CREATE, and IMPROVE.
-An individual reflection page for students to debrief and think about how they participated, what conflict may have arisen from working in a group and how they can personally improve.
