Your students will love using the engineering design process to design and launch paper rockets! This lesson incorporates Next Generation Science Standards for Engineering Design with concepts of energy and forces and follows the 5E format (engage, explore, explain, extend, evaluate). I have used this challenge with single classes and grade levels, and as a whole school design challenge, all with great results.
