Description
In this challenge, students will design and build a parachute. The parachute will transport a raw egg in a small sandwich bag without padding to the ground unbroken from a height determined by your instructor. If you prefer, students will design and build a parachute that will be launched into space on a pop bottle rocket and return a raw egg in a crash-proof container to earth unbroken.
Students will read the PowerPoint lesson and answer questions on parachute science and on designing and building a parachute. I also included Powerpoint lessons on how to make the parachute template.
All the worksheets, tests, answer keys, grading rubrics, and suggestions for teaching this unit are provided in Word format free at Teachers Pay Teachers. I have included everything you need for this fun problem solving activity. The lesson on Pop Bottle Rockets is also available at TPT.
