I have found that since we adopted the Common Core Standards many parents have shown frustration while helping their children with their homework. They do not feel that they can help them anymore as the concepts are new and it has been a long time since they learned similar concepts. In order to help bridge the gap and ease some parents minds, I have created this guide to 6th Grade math. It has all 5 domains included and all the standards that the students need to learn. I have placed them in the order I teach, but they can be switched. I bind a copy of this book for my parents and they can take it at any point in the year. I just ask they bring it back so that I can reuse it.

This book lists each standard, followed with key vocabulary and definitions needed, as well as a few examples or a model. The goal is that parents may be able to use this as a quick reference at home to help guide their kiddos. This is also great for a first year math teacher to become familiar with the common core standards and methods.
