GRAPHIC DESIGN Pattern Activity | DT TECHNOLOGY Textiles - Teacher PP guides students through the activity either as a class lesson or a home learning task. Students are introduced to the basics of Pattern making. There is a research task asking them to match patterns to design names, then a grid activity to produce their own repeat patterns, along with guidance sheets for making a pattern from a single image in Photoshop AND A WORD SEARCH STARTER.
PRODUCT DESIGN | Weather Activity | Graphic SKILLS Rendering & MARK MAKING - POWERPOINT, STUDENT ACTIVITY SHEETS & HANDOUTS to embrace the Autumnal term looking at weather patterns in graphic design or as a textiles extension for fabric pen designs. We will need the following equipment to complete your Weather - Rendering & Mark Making sheets - Pencil - Rubber - Ruler
- Complete the top LIGHT using light pressure on your pencil and the ruler to stay within the line
- Complete the MIDTONE by adding a little more pressure
- Complete the DARK by using FULL pressure for solid colour
- Mark making - Create a pattern using 1, 2 or 3 different weather symbols for each season (use the sheets to help you design or come up with your own WEATHER patterns)
- Use the gridlines to help
- REPEAT the design
- Add seasonal colour

Fill IN the 16 boxes (and the text if you wish) with hand rendered patterns. Use only a pencil, a rubber and a black pen, add no color, REPEAT activity with color to experiment.
