Thank you for the resource! It worked well in my mixed abilities 3rd grade classroom.
My second and third graders loved this visual resource.
I love using manipulatives to teach concepts. Fractions are tough to teach and using pattern blocks are an easy way to show parts of a whole. Students learn that the green piece is 1/6 and the yellow hexagon is 1 whole etc. It's a fun way to teach fractions. Once you teach your students the value of each piece, it's a great activity they can do as independent or guided.
This was great to provide some extra practice to my early finishers, while some students needed more support. I work with struggling students in a small group setting, but there are always those students who can move on more quickly.
Great resource that extended my students' learning with fractions. Thank you!
Great resource. Thank you.
