Students will have fun forming lower case letters with pattern blocks. There are three templates provided in this file. The first level has the students place the same colored blocks on the mat to create the letter. The second level is a black and white mat with the pattern outline. Students place their blocks on the mat. The last level is an open design having the students form their own letter with given blocks. Each level has the students count and record the number of blocks used on each mat. Spinners included in the file.

Worksheets provided: Draw and write what you built, graph your results, inequalities (greater than, less than, equal to), number sentences and find the sum, Sort and Frame it and write or trace the lower case letters.
